Hehe, you're lucky they don't hurt! Mine were constantly (maybe because we went to a cheap dentist...) the wire was always sticking into and cutting my gums, I got so frustrated I ripped it out a few times and had to get it replaced, folks weren't too happy with that =P

By the way James, if the wires poke your gums, go to your orthodontist and ask for wax. Once you get the wax, stick it between the wires and your gums. It'll make it feel a lot better.
